Mammals of Lake Kerkini: A photo series

Lake Kerkini is magical. Besides the birds, the area is home to several species of wild mammals, including wildcats, golden jackals, and more. During our recent trip, we had the chance to see and photograph some of these animals, as well as the cutest puppies and stunning horses. The region's most notable feature is undoubtedly the water buffalo. Only a few thousand still breed in the areas around the lake.
