Owl of Athena, Little Owl (Athene noctua) the sacret bird of goddess Athena, was one of our target species in our last birding tour.
In order to see goddess Athena sacret bird we stayed until sunset at Schinias National Park, one of the best locations for this small species of Owl. Some searching around their regular nesting sites and perching spots (old roof tops, chimneys, etc) and we succeded in finding 3 different individuals.
