Yellow-browed Warbler overwintering in Athens
Yellow-browed Warbler is a rather recent addition to the wintering birds of Greece. Just a handful of birds are recorded every year in city parks, most probably because of the increased presence of birders in urban areas. Most of the times, the birds are moving restlessly through the dense foliage, rarely exposing themselves. This time, the individual overwintering in a park of the municipaliy of Filothei - a wealthy northern suburb of Athens - was very kind and offered a good number of views (and photos) out in the open.
