On the second day, birding in the lakes was limited to three hours but it was enough to have great views of Greylag Geese (this is the southernmost breeding area in Europe), Bearded Reedlings, Reed and Great Reed Warblers along with dozens of Squacco and Night Herons.

We had a long drive home, so we started our way back and made a stop at Kalampaka in Thessaly, where we had great views (and photos) of Rollers in the riparian forest of Mourgani river, close to Kalampaka. There were also Hoopoes, Golden Orioles, Common Redstart; a Levant Sparrowhawk was also sighted.
