The freshwater lake of Dystos in central Evvoia is one of the best sites for raptors, especially in winter and spring. All four species of harriers visit it due to the abundance of prey.
Hen harrier is a common winter visitor and the male is one of the most beautiful, though very difficult to photograph, sightings. This time, however, a sub-adult male bird was very kind to offer us some great views, during our mid-winter count visit to the area!

The male Hen Harrier has the nickname "Grey Ghost" |

The upperparts indicate that this is not an adult bird |
Other raptors seen were Marsh Harriers, Common Buzzards, a
Long-legged Buzzard, Merlins, Sparrowhawks and Kestrels.
