Whooper Swans are very rare in Attica, seen exclusively in winter and not every winter. Seeing one in summer is out of the question, or isnt't it?
Schinias is still flooded, even though it is June, as this year's rainfall has been exceptionally heavy, especially in spring. Among the usual waterfowl (Mallards, Ferruginous Ducks), a single Whooper Swan is feeding on vegetation, using this raft as grooming salon. It is the first summer record of this impressive and very rare winter visitor of Attica!
