Hunting season is officialy open in Greece...And, along with the legal quarries (tutle doves and quails), many other species still get shot at during fall migration. Hoopoes, like the one in the photo, Golden Orioles, Bee-eaters and Shrikes are the most common victims of poaching, since their hunting was allowed several years ago and many hunters still live in the past.....Along with them, birds of prey, storks and herons are also included in the bloody list of Greek poaching....
