Even though it has suffered a lot in the past decades, the Riparian Forest in Nestos Delta is still a haven for many woodland birds. Many species take cover in the dense foliage of the poplars, alders, ashes and other trees. One of them is the Levant Sparrowhawk (Accipiter brevipes) - Σαϊνι that can be found sometimes remarkably close to man taking advantage of the thick coverage of the leaves, like this juvenile.
