One of the rarest breeding species, the Spur-winged Plover (Vanellus spinosus) - Αγκαθοκαλημάνα can be seen during breeding period in a handful of places all over Greece. The most famous are the Deltas of River Nestos and Evros. This one, being very tame and approachable, was found in Evros Delta this spring.
