I managed to take quite a few pics of Little Crakes (Porzana parva) in Agias Lake @ Chania, as there were at least 5 birds in the reedbeds.
Apparently, the second bird posted here did not seem to have red in its bill, and put me into some questions for being Baillon's Crake (Porzana pusilla). After talking with some experts, I still cannot end up with a definite answer, most probably being Little Crake.
It seems that sometimes this red mark might me be as diagnostic as the spots under the bird.
I wish I could cut cut off these leaves in Photoshop!
