This winter has brought lots of rare birds (for Greece). One of them is the Great Black-Backed Gull (Larus marinus) that appears as odd birds every winter. I had the chance to see (and photograph) one in Kitros Saltpans in Northern Greece. The bird was resting along with Yellow-legged, Caspian, Lesser Black-Backed and Slender-billed Gulls.
